Sprinkles and Short Driveways

We've got big news. Two big pieces of news actually. They are small and white. And sharp. They have taken up residence in Tucker's mouth. Right in the middle of his bottom gums. When he laughs you can see them. And I can't believe it. We have a baby. And he's doing all the normal things. He's rolling. And laughing. And reaching. And grasping. And now chewing. He's got two adorable, slobbery, pre-cursor-to-eating-cake...teeth. I don't know why the birth of these teeth has got me so emotional. I ... View the Post

Our One Cuss Thanksgiving

My great grandmother's name was Ila. She was feisty and strong. So much so, that she insisted on splitting wood at 6:00 a.m...when she was 80. She lived until she was 96 and passed away only a few years ago. She was known mostly to family and anyone else as Maw Chapman. For Thanksgiving our entire family of about 35 crammed into her maybe-900-sq-foot house and had some of the best Thanksgivings ever. I loved it and miss those gatherings in her house. The Countdown and the Big Break Up

I love fall. Favorite season-hands down. Who Is This Rookie?

I don't trust people who don't like sweets. Monica Gellar is my spirit animal. I work. I write. I mom. I pray. I wife. I eat. I go. First kid was born at 24 weeks and spent 151 days in the NICU-well that didn't go as planned. He fought and we cheered. I started writing during that time. Second kid was born on a Thursday night-her birthmom's hand in mine both of us crying happy tears. You'll find posts here about cheesecake, adoption, kindergarten shenanigans, hard stuff, Dolly Parton and whatever else I want. And you'll like it young lady. Thanks for reading. I always love adding to the team. Especially if you bring team snacks.
